Course Description

This course provides an entry-level understanding of Rockwell Automation’s Kinetix servo systems. Participants will explore the fundamentals of servo motors, drives, and motion control components. Training includes hands-on exposure to basic configuration, axis tuning, and diagnostics, with a focus on applying servo technology in real-world industrial automation settings.

Course Outline

  1.   Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures before servicing or wiring servo equipment
  2.   Configure Kinetix servo drives using Studio 5000 software tools
  3.   Tune servo motors for performance using both automatic and manual methods
  4.   Diagnose and resolve common servo faults using system monitoring tools
  5.   Calculate load-to-motor inertia ratios and apply them to the system setup
  6.   Integrate servo axes into Logix 5000 projects and verify motion control settings
