Notes

People skills typically account for 80 percent of success in the first-level leader role. Yet many people are promoted because of their technical capabilities.

Additionally, many first-level managers are promoted in their early 30s yet receive no management and/or leadership training until their 40s. The combination of being promoted for technical skills and promoted without leadership training create a gap of missed productivity, profit, and/or opportunities which can create a negative impact through employee turnover, burnout, reduced return on investment, etc.
