Course Description

This course will cover the basic features, modes and events used for programming the Proto-Trak KMX cnc control on a knee mill. The student will learn how to setup a part and use the conversational program to drill bolt hole patterns, mill radius and arcs. To mill pockets and slots. They will use some offline software to create a program offline. Students will learn how to make offsets and import files into the control.

There will be 2 main controls that are used. The KMX and the EDGE controls.

Course Outline

• The majority of this class is hands on the control. Minimal time will be spent in the classroom
• Students will be given several prints to learn to write the programs to completely machine the parts
